You should not have a problem with an Apple OS startup on the Plextor which
IMO is the Rolls Royce of CD drives. To be sure, check with the manufacturer
on your particular model (if it's not in the manual), but I think it's OK.

FWB's CD Rom toolkit might be out of date. Also your CD might not be a
genuine bootable, might be improperly written, or have some other
incompatibility. Make sure you've tested with an original Apple system CD
which will have the right CD driver for the system and should eliminate the
uncertainty of what's at fault (assuming your computer is not too new for
the CD). BTW I've come to much prefer Intech's CD/DVD Speedtools--more
compatible, faster updates and no charges for upgrades--ever.
