IMO it's indispensable to a PPC Duo, or just about any 603 Powermac.
It still helps the 2400 a lot as well, and I held off upgrading to OS
9 until I'd hacked the SD8 extension into loading under that OS
(where it works fine, btw, at least for the "Faster Emulation" and
associated UI tweaks which are all I enabled).

The "Faster File Copy" and other tricks are progressively less of a
win on 8.0 and later versions of the OS - I turned them all off
around 8.1 or 8.5, but kept Faster Emulation. If you're unconvinced,
borrow a copy to try out, and I'm sure you'll find it worth buying.

I'd vote strongly for SoundApp instead of GrayAMP anyway - better
interface, better playback quality, supports more formats, also
freeware. It should work as well as GrayAMP on the 2300 (either way
the machine won't be able to do much else at the same time).
