I just did a fresh, clean install of System 8.5. I
have inserted an Ethernet PC card into the 2400, and
it comes up on the screen. But in the TCP/IP control
panel, Ethernet is not an option, so I can't establsh
a TCP connection over Ethernet. Likewise, Ethernet is
not an option in the Appletalk control panel, so I
can't use the Ethernet port for filr sharing with my
other Mac.

(a) How do I get the Ethernet options into the TCP/IP
and Appletalk control panels?

(b) Apart from that (or maybe this is part of the same
question), do I need to get some kind of driver for
the specific Ethernet PC card that I have in order for
these functions to work?

Thanks, ===Scott
