I've been using two different AC adapters and a car adapter for my 2300c for
a couple years now without a problem. I picked all three up second-hand (IE,
none came with the 230 or 2300c I have)  so I'm not entirely sure what model
they are. I'd look, but they're packed away at the moment and I don't feel
like digging them out ;)
