Hi, Fellow Duo Users:
I've really gotten a lot of encouragement and useful information
from this list, since starting the project of resuscitating the Duo 210
that my daughter gave back to me. (I'd given it to her to start graduate
school, and its major accomplishment was being part of a conversation that
led to my acquiring a fine son-in-law... and they both now, alas, are lost
to the world of Apples. But I digress...)
I've been using the Duo only with the AC adapter, as the two
batteries (model number M7782) seem dead... although showing a charge in
the "battery" apple-menu item. So, I've been starting to look at eBay for
batteries. I might go with a new one, listed by a guy who specializes in
selling them and giving a $6 rebate on old ones mailed in. But around $60
it still feels a bit pricey. So, I'm watching the used market.
Here's my question: I'm looking at a PowerBook Duo Type 3 Battery,
Model M1499. They claim it can be used in any duo, though originally made
for the color models. Is that true? Would there be any problem,
mechanically or electrically, in my using it in my 210?
Since the auction ends today, I'll welcome a speedy response -- to
me personally, as well as to the list.
