Hmm, sounds a bit ominous, but first ting to try is resetting the power
manager. Remove the battery and A/C and hold the power button on the back
right for a good 30 seconds or so and see what that does. This will reset
the power manager with is a somewhat frequent cause of things like this.

Also, check the memory and "power card" or whatever it's called to make sure
they aren't loose (sounds like you're in this a lot, so one or the other
could be loose)
