Ok, so this isn't the iBook list...but there are a few bright people here...and your thoughts are welcome.
My niece is getting a new iBook. She wants DVD-CD/RW, i.e., the combo drive. Here are our choices: New iBook/600/20HD/384RAM/Combo Drive - $1700 Previous iBook/500/20HD/384RAM/Combo Drive - $1500. The only difference I can tell is the new one has the faster processor and the nicer power adapter. I told her she won't be able to tell the difference in the processor speed except under limited circumstances. I'm not sure the new power adapter is worth $200. I vaguely remember reading about a few internal fixes Apple included in this release, but I can't find anything online. Am I missing something or is the /500 a no brainer ...which means she has $200 for other stuff, like AppleCare. Thoughts?
