'new' batteries are quite often dead, they only have a shelf life of
2-3 years.
You could try running 'battery amnesia' on it several times to
re-condition it and you might get a useful amount of life out of it.
if this fails then the only option is to buy a re-manufactured
battery, or re-build it yourself.
