Hi All, I am looking for suggestions on what to do when you get a message that says "no dial tone" when using a Duo (280c in my case) when the phone line checks out ok? I have pulled my old machine out of storage to use for getting e-mail on the road. It has a GV Mercury powerport modem. I've turned the modem on using the Powerport control panel. I've tried all the different settings. It just keeps saying "no dial tone" with the GlobalFax and also with AOL 4.
If I need to reload the software does anybody have a link where to get it for the modem. I am running system 8.1 and I have 38mb of ram. It use to work great and I can't justufy a new machine just for e-mail. Thanks, J ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
