H1! I just bought a used Duo 280 with one functioning Type II Apple brand
battery. I really like this little machine, so I splurged and also bought a
new BTI NiMh battery Model MC-T4 (which is supposed to be compatible with 210
through 280C).

After a dozen futile and frustrated tries to insert the new battery solidly,
I am convinced the BTI battery can't seat. It's not loose, it doesn't
wiggle, the latch is solid - but the Duo does not "see" it. (It's also a
MAJOR pain to get it back OUT of the Duo.)

Is this a fluke? Or is it characteristic of the brand?

Is it possible I'm putting it in wrong (seems unlikely, but then again, this
is my first laptop)? Is there another brand battery I should try that will
fit dependably? (and who has decent prices? Yikes!)

Thanks from a newbie,
Jeanne
