Hello Dear RRDaniel: Thanks so much for your reply and perspective. I am new to the list as well to the computer world...yikkkkes. I have a home machine 8600 which I have upgraded to G3 and love it big time. I often need to be away from home and have purchased a 280C, which has been a sweet addition to my family. It is now necessary to replace the HD, and am looking for a simple and effective way to transfer info and upgrade my options for this duo. Scsi seems the best way to do this...got a better idea? I have a cd burner and ethernet in my toy box. I tried a friends Newer Tech Scsi Micro...and it would not boot with it attached....this was before the HD rolled over and died. I need something simple and relatively small, my travel case has lots of extra room but a regular dock is tooo....Most of my travel is by car, but sometimes, by plane. Thanks for your help, Hope
