I just transferred some 2.8GB of files to my PB2400, and I have startup problems. Only the HD icon appears on the desktop, and then nothing -- icons for trash, aliases, the control strip -- nothing else appears. Mouse moves but nothing is clickable; not a hint that drive is cranking on anything. What am I to do?
Starting without extensions is OK, and I've tried to rebuild the desktop -- thinking that the directory is confused by the new 2.8GB stuff. But the rebuild doesn't solve the startup problem. Appletalk is off, so is File Sharing. I zapped the PRAM. I didn't transfer/change any extensions -- only some Word and IE preferences, OE Identities, and a whole load of my own files.
