In my experience with the two machines I would prefer a 2300 over a 280c any day. If you upgrade the hard drive and have no less than 32Meg of ram, they run fine. The screen alone is worth the difference for me. I'm also a tracked lover to. In fact If any of you 2300 owners want to trade for my 280c, let me know'
