My original reason for wondering about using that particular machine as a router is that I like to be able to use the router positioned machine as a server (mail + ftp generally) as I work between home and the Uni, and I have to transfer files between quite a lot, so having the ability to store files on the gateway machine is quite an advantage...
I asked about options in this case as I've never run a mac as a router - I've used linux and (uuurrrrgh) NT on x86 boxes, but I thought it'd be nice to have a mac doing the job... Has anyone actually got mklinux running on a duo yet? I've played with pci ppc versions of linux, but never anything on a 68K machine and if it's possible to get it running I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to kludge together a solution out of duo parts... Not very elegant, and probably not too stable, but it might mak for an interesting project... Dan. -- ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
