As I said, I feel the OS X running on G3/266/160MB is
good. Don't
know 32MB less (128MB) makes so much difference. And
I remember
someone posted the pre OS X running on 2400c/G3/80 was
tolerable.

Then may be OS8.6 is even better. But, after using
Mac and NeXT for
that many years, I appreciate Mac's design as well as
its file
system. For better future, I would prefer to stick
myself more to
Unix based system. With 2400c/G3/320MHz/80MB RAM, and
1.5 hrs of
life on the road, I would not expect it to run like a
champ, just
want to have a portable system (4.4 lb) and consistent
with my G4 at
home. So long as the speed is tolerable, I will
consider, and may
even up it to 112MB if possible.
