I haven't done anything, but I believe that MadDog did something and posted
it on his site. Anyone have a link?

The cells to use (Type II/III) are 4/5's "A" cells with tabs, and you'll need
10 cells total per battery (www.batteriesamerica.com and other sites). If
you know how to handle a soldering iron and can cut open the battery case, go
for it. If you don't have a soldering iron, don't try it. This is for those
that are quite mechanically inclined. The possibility exists of damage to
yourself (one person told me that they almost lost a digit using a knife to
open the battery pack. Be careful...hospital visits cost lots more than a
Duo battery)

I use a Dremal tool to open the packs, leaves a nice lip for the glue. Goop
is my favored adhesive, but your milage may vary. If you want to try it and
no one has the link, email me off list and I'll see if I can get you going in
the right direction.

Cheers!
Andrew
