Not exactly the answer you're after, but if you just want to reduce clutter, here's waht I do. Above the Trashcan, I've got a folder called 'Droppers' whaich contains Aliases to all those things it's useful to be able to drop files onto, but not _all_ the time - Expander, DropStuff, Decoder, SplitIt!, and so on. Double-clicking the folder opens it into a little strip above the Trash. So they're all a double-click at the 'real estate' cost of one icon. ymmv. hth -- Take care .....
