Not if it had the same problem as my similar machine w/ same symptoms.

In my case, the ribbon cable between the motherboard and the display
unit (goes thru the hinge) had a crack in one of the traces. IIRC, DT&T
fixed it for about $100. (I had other work done @ same time.) The
broken trace was at a 90� (flat fold-over-itself) bend, and hardly
surprising.
