Depends on the quality you need. I tried using it (same set up as yours) to transfer some dance videos, but it was not smooth enough for me to capture the fast action of dance movements. The irez is also video only, so you need an additional sound cable to go onto the audio in.
It's great for play through as a video monitor (e.g. watching movies with a VCR), but for capturing purposes, I found it wanting Tho "Michael J.
