The subject of "heat sinking" (modifications) of the 2400 has been done and discussed by several listers over the years, using aluminum block, foil, thermal grease etc.--and is highly recommended. Bridging the gap between the CPU and the base pad will lower the temperature nominally by 3-5 C and up to 6-7 C under intensive CPU use. IMO the stock 603e runs hotter than the G3 upgrades (hence more likely to fail). Check the archives. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
