Well Paul, I've really enjoyed your insightful, helpful, witty, thoughtful
and well written posts over the years--both on and off-topic. You've been
one of the real stalwarts of this list and much appreciated by all.

NOW, I happened to drop in on one of my 1 in 20 "monitor" reads of the iBook
list a few days back (digests which usually I just throw unread in DAILY
batches of 6's and 8's into archives), and lo and behold, I saw you
(laboriously and earnestly) engaged in a half tongue-in-cheek "serious"
flame war (although I must admit your "critique" was right on the mark with
a sniper's match shooting precision--and hilarious). BUT, if you've got the
time for THAT, you've got more than enough time to continue to stick around
Duolist's maximum 1-2 per day digest volume. Sure, the signal here is weaker
and less interesting than it used to be but the signal to noise ratio on the
iBook list is so much worse, all the noise filters in the world don't help.

Sure, the 2400 is a dead end, and business for AHC is only a trickle from
2400s...there are 100s of 1000s more iBooks out there and more to come plus
OS X and that's great for biz and buzz...So if appreciation doesn't convince
you to stay on, perhaps embarrassment might ;-)?

I have an Asante FriendlyNet PC Card 10base-T that I will gift you for the
years of most pleasurable camaraderie on this list, including international
postage. You'll need to get a cable and download drivers (it shows up
properly on my Powerbooks but I can't test it w/o cable--just email me
offlist your preferred receiving address).

Paul, I, for one, am very sad to see you depart and urge you to better
reconsider by jettisoning or pruning your email from elsewhere. The digest
version is not so taxing and neither is the diminished bandwidth.

But, all the best, virtually and really!

Cheers,
Sidney Ho
