Hello Everyone For those of you concerned ( as John is ) about loose screws on the lower case of a 2400.
John Tree Wrote : ""It seems the problem was all the screws in there holding the screen in and the plastics on were very lose. tightening them all up has totally cured the problem. Ha Ha. Does make me worry about all the screws in the lower case.. "" I have this to add: Recently I purchased three 2400c powerbooks . Two non working , one working. I took apart all three 2400c powerbooks, to upgrade and fix . As anyone who has repaired a 2400 knows , there are allot of screws to remove to get at the hard drive or replace a processor The working 2400 had been previously taken apart and I suspect that it had most of it's screws loose ( ha ha ) due to some sloppy technicians work . The other two 2400 powerbooks had no loose screws. I checked the plastics manufacture date , and found the oldest one was made Sept 97. Although not a definitive answer to the condition of the screws on anyone's powerbook, I thought these findings might be of interest to the list. " The List ",,, sounds allot like the " Borg collective " on Star Trek new generation. " Resistance is futile " especially once you've owned a Duo or 2400. Sorry , couldn't resist putting in that last part. Cheers Carlos ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
