Well, After researching the Sound Jam versus iTunes issue, I've decided that iTunes is the better player for my 2400c OS 8.6 180MHZ/80mb/20gb hd. Now Apple formerly does not support iTunes to be used with 8.6. But iTunes 1.1 (or 1.0) can be patched to do so. All of the information you need or want to know can be found (as well as software to be downloaded) at:
http://www.WormInTheApple.gr/downloads/index.html Now some of you are big Sound Jam fans as I too enjoy Sound Jam. However, I feel that unless you have Sound Jam Plus (the version you had to pay for), iTunes is the better mp3 player. This mainly for the ability to rip songs so easily from CDs without the 30 song limit that the free version of Sound Jam imposes. Also the iTunes IMHO does a better job of managing large numbers of mp3s as they can be either viewed as a complete list, as well as by album, by artist, and even has a browser. If I remember right, Sound Jam Plus also used more ram, then iTunes, then Sound Jam Free. The one feature that Sound Jam (Free or Plus version) has that I really liked is the ability to control play through the control strip. So again, unless you have the Plus version, try out iTunes. If you have 8.6, I would follow the patch instructions very carefully. Now, I'm looking for an eBook Reader that is compatible with OS 8.6. Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader 2.2 is free but is stated to be only for OS 9.0 or above. Has anyone used this version with 8.6? Does anyone have an earlier version of Adobe eBook Reader? Regarding the upgrade for 2400s, I would buy one, but my concern is when could this be made available for us. I've planned to purchase a TiBook probably next year. Though I would keep my 2400, having the upgrade available ASAP would be best. Mike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
