Uh hu I'll try to beat that price, no kidding. However it's not possible to make the case, the molds cost too much.
I have a few questions here, how many people still use their 2400c as a true portable or rather use it as a desktop? How many people are happy with their battery life? How many people will buy a $200+ Apple brand battery which is already 3 years old? With the new battery you can have higher capacity cells (2100mAh vs 1600mAh); longer run time, 20% to 30% longer than the original; a new controller/protection board; no DOA guarantee plus 90 days warranty; and the best part, a MUCH lower price. About the price, it depends on quantity, the project won't go without a minimun order of 100. High capacity cells are hard to find but they are not too expensive, it's the new controller/protection board that will cost a fortune; and the whole package must be manufactured in a factory with the right components and right tools. If you can repair the AC adapter you can open the battery and replace everything, it's not too difficult. You can always wait for price of Apple brand battery will drop but I doubt it will ever happen, they are HARD_TO_FIND items and I don't think resellers can sell them below cost. Any thoughts? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Fox" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Duo/2400 List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, March 20, 2002 9:38 AM Subject: [Duo2400] Re: reasonable price for 2400c battery > As a reference, Apple's non-discontinued PowerBook batteries go for $129 > new, with case. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
