As a former owner of a Newton: The keyboard connected with the standard "Apple serial connector", which is the same type connector I used to hook it up to a StyleWriter printer, or to the computer for upload/download. So, it was a serial connector, not ADB.
There is a web page which refers to the serial interface in passing: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/messagepad/stats/newton_mp_110.html Also, look here: http://karchive.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14838 Hope this helps.
