Jai-

  Remove the battery and try starting the duo from the AC only. If it 
still doesn't boot (or try at least), then you might have a fried 
motherboard. I thought the stiffener (plastic frame) was magnesium or 
aluminum? Was the HDD ripped out or run over? :)

Good luck. I have some Duo parts from a 230, including the stiffener & 
HDD shield.
