Has anyone used an Asante Micro EN/SC Ethernet adapter with a mini-dock to
connect a Duo 2300 to an iMac for file-sharing? I've used this Asante
adapter to connect my 170 to my school iMac, and the mini-dock/Asante
adapter has connected the Duo to a Powermac 6100 at home. However, when I
try the Asante adapter with the iMac a light near the cable port flashes
on and off. At home that same light is on once the network connection is
up.

I'm using a crossover cable, and I think I can almost set up a crossover
connection in my sleep. Both hard drives are configured and the control
panels for file-sharing look ok. It seems to be a hardware problem with the
adapter. Unfortunately, the net utils program that comes with the adapter
keeps crashing with a Type 1 error whenever I try to run it.
