heh. I had great luck swapping my original equipment 1.8 for a hot Japanese import 3.2. The Comet has been running great... yeah, it has a lot of miles on it, but the custom paint job and new interior have made it a real head-turner. Other guys are jealous, and chicks really dig my ride. Whenever I cruise around the show floor at Mac World Expo everyone stops what they are doing and come admire my wheels. The truly desirable classics are those that were rare, even when they were new. Models with low production numbers, like the Ferrari GTB/4, the Jaguar C-Type, or the Apple PowerBook 2400c... it is these rare and beautiful examples of craftsmanship that stand out, head and shoulders above the the more pedestrian and mundane models, that can only be called 'classic' due to their age (old Camaros and PowerBook 3400's come to mind.) Though I may trade in the 2400c for a new 'daily driver' (gotta have those more modern features like air bags, anti-lock brakes, 512M of RAM and OS X compatibility) I will never loose my love for the sleek curves and tight lines of my gorgeous 2400c. --chuck (lover of old cars and comets) goolsbee <http://www.goolsbee.org/> ___________________________________________________________________ Well-weathered leather, Hot metal and oil, The scented country air.
