Time-Warner's RoadRunner Internet service has been providing dial-up capabilities for some time for all the WinOSs. It uses a script that I haven't been able to hack for use with OS 8.6, nor with VPC....though I haven't tried that hard with VPC.
Has anyone been able to dial-up to RoadRunner with a MacOS? As usual they don't respond to email queries and the tech guys stand by the party line, i.e., not for Mac.
