Tom,
I did the cardbus thing 2 weeks ago and everything seems to be
working fine. I used a pair of fine needle nose to pull the top ends of
the yellow tracewires as I touched a finepoint soldering iron to the
solder point on the board. They popped right out, was very quick. I
taped the ends so that if there was a problem I could reattach them but
so far so good. I have a FireWire2Go card and works great for
downloading video to imovie. My 2400 does have a 320mhz upgrade however.
Don't know how well it will work with a stock 2400.
