Dear Gurus,
I am planning to use my spare 280c for scorekeeping sheepdog
trials. The 280 will be on the field or in the cab of a pickup and
appletalk/phonenet will connect it to a 2300/dock/monitor in the dry.
I've two questions: Does anyone know of a lightweight housing which
would shadow the 280's screen sufficiently to make it readable in bright
sunlight? (B&W screen helps but isn't good enough).
And: does anyone know any mac software which could be used/modified
for simple scorekeeping? (The sheepdog trial judge deducts points while the
dog performs seven tasks and the judge's total deductions from a fixed
number (usually 110) becomes the final score. Seven subtotals, one total,
the judge may wish to change an entry until totalling). I can do the job
with Claris spreadsheets but using Claris requires slightly more computer
savvy than our scorekeepers may have (and some of the poor babies are
accustomed to Mr. Gates' devices).
I cannot write software but might be able to handle apple scripts.
                                        Donald McCaig
