Sounds like the previous owner did not pay attention when they did their disassembly, and lost some bits along the way... > >They say it is missing the HD cable, which is entirely possible. No, that is impossible, as there is no HD cable in a 2400c. >Without >knowing 2400's it would be hard to know what other parts, if any, may be >missing. <snip> > >So, either I send it to someone who is throughly knowledgeable about these >little guys, and pay them to tell me what is missing, plus have them fix >it, or just throw in the towel and sell it and do something else. ><snip> >Any other suggestions? offers? First of all, where are you? Check the mac2400 site, as it lists folks (myself included) who will do repair/upgrade work on the 2400c. Contact the one(s) closest to you and see if they can help. (URL in List sig) If you are anywhere near Seattle, I am willing to have a look at it, and at least tell you what, if anything, is missing. If you are willing to pay the shipping, I'll have a look too. I can not assure you of the availability of parts, if indeed something is missing... so I can't promise to repair the unit. There remains a possibility that nothing is missing and the shop you brought it to does not know how to assemble a 2400c. It was a rare beast, and few Apple dealers have seen one, much less worked on one.
