Sounds like a blown fuse on the powerboard that prevents your 2400 from recognizing 
the battery: as a first test, try to bridge the 5 A fuse on the powerboard by a wire. 
I suppose the computer will "see" the battery again then. I experienced the same 
problem with my 2400 and succeeded in repairing the problem (just oversoldering the 
normally useless fuse) following the great hints from this helpful list.
