After wrestling with SCSI Disk Mode and my 6100 for many hours, I've found
a control panel, SSCSI Probe, that was causing the 6100 to crash. When I
moved SCSI Probe out of my control panels, SCSI Disk Mode started up fine
on the 2300, and the 6100 also booted without crashing. The Duo wouldn't
mount on the desktop using Drive Setup but Hard Disk Toolkit brought it up
right away. Eureka!!

Parenthetically, why do I (we?) drive ourselves crazy trying to solve these
problems? My house is a mess right now and I am somewhat sleep deprived...
but happy that I've gotten lots of helpful suggestions and solved this
dilemna. Now to get OT/PPP working on the Duo!!!
