I have OS 7.6.1 on my 2300 with a variety of 8.1, 8.0 and some 8.5.1
control panels and extensions. Even though it sounds crazy, I've weeded out
the control panels and extensions that hang up the machine or plain don't
work. However, several of the Control Panels, especially modem, PPP, and
TCP/IP don't show up in the Extensions Manager even though I see them
residing in my control panels folder. When I try to open any of those
control panels I get an error message stating that they won't work because
Open Transport isn't loaded.

In my System folder I have Open Transport 1.1.1 and I downloaded OT/PPP
1.0. Did I install something out of sequence, causing a problem with Open
Transport? I was able to connect to the internet when I was running 8.5.1
on this machine (Open Transport 1.1.2 and OT/PPP 1.01) but downgraded my
system to 7.6.1 after I had to reinitialize the hard drive to clear up some
software problems.

Even though I have access to the internet with a desktop I like getting
online with this puppy. Email worked fine and browsing with Wannabe was fun.
