This is OT but maybe someone who already knows how to do this will take pity on me. Nothing I've read so far has helped me learn where the error is...
I've got a Wallstreet II (OS 9.1) upgraded to 500MHz (Sonnet) with plenty of RAM and the Apple DVD PC Card in the bottom slot, plus one of MCE's 8x8x8x24 CDRW/DVD combo expansion bay drives (Toshiba), so I ought to *finally* be able to play DVD's on my Mac, or so I've read. Software installed: Apple DVD Player 1.3, Toast 5.1.3. DVD Player won't start but instead puts up a message that the machine hasn't the requisite hardware. The drive plays CD's just fine. The PC Card shows up on the desktop. My one DVD shows up on the desktop as a UDF volume. Toast says it's Mac/PC compatible but won't even copy it to disk. I'm not sure what Region it's from. Anyway, the alert said "hardware" not media, so...unhhh...help! TIA, BobF ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
