First up, I still don't have ADC chips yet but I had a vintage PeeCee with
EGA card. Since EGA outputs RGB in digital level not analog like VGA, I
tested the 280c LCD with the EGA. I was able to see Windows 3.11 spash
screen fairly clearly on my initial test but without a proper frequency, the
image wasn't steady. At least I know the LCD module could be driven off any
digital video source. Now to find that 4 bit ADC...

And now since my 280c isn't working well and I've scrapped for parts, I'm in
the market for a replacement laptop and I still prefer to have a Mac laptop.
I've thought about the 2400 or the 3400. (I might even get the 5300
instead) All I need is one that's cheap, can be used with basic software
for simple internet surfing as well as Words 5.1 and a few basic graphic
programs. Any suggestion?
