>Morning all, on a glorious Devon (UK) dawn. Greetings everyone on a misty but still very hot Spanish morning. Sort of English morning too: my TV set is bringing me the European CNN news in a cute southern English accent as I write this.

No problems here with my Ezquest CDRW and Toast Deluxe 4 or 5, it works incredibly well. I wish I could say the same about Windows eXtra Pain. Are you installing from the hard drive or from a CD? I suggest installing from the hard drive, perhaps having the CDRW connected at the same time helps (not in my case anyway). The key issue is get the computer to see the CDRW through the Firewire bus. Assuming you got it working and you have "Toast CD Reader" in the extensions folder, is your CDRW able to mount an ordinary CD on the mac desktop? If so, you should have the following extensions in order to be able to burn CDs: Toast CD Reader, Toast FireWire Support, and Toast USB Support (probably not needed in your context). If the installer still fails, try increasing its memory size.
