>I hope I don't sound dumb, but what is GLOD? Phil, it is an acronym for "Green Light of Death." When the 2400's Power Manager becomes corrupted, it can cause the unit to "die." Sometimes the PRAM (battery backup for the Parameter RAM on the logic board) battery has died, or the barometric pressure changes at a fast rate (just kidding), or some combination of sleep/improper shutdown/battery dying/bad charger causes it. Sometimes multiple PM resets will recover the unit, sometimes it is a failure of an internal connection/part/etc. The 2400, being a complicated beast, tends to suffer from GLODs a bit more than other, more simple units. You will see more indications here of GLODs because this is the highest concentration of 2400 users in the world...and you'll also get the best advice here, to boot. However, the 2400 is a super-nifty unit....and still in demand until Steve Jobs decides to build another subnotebook.
