Little late out of the starting blocks, but couldn't see anyone else 
having mentionned it yet...

If that way inclined, it is possible to repair the brick's broken 
wire/s. Check out the following page on Ralph Mawyer's mac2400 site.

May do the job, and would certainly be the cheapest option.
