Sounds like a bad battery. Two years ago I bought a VST battery for a
Duo 2300 that exhibited similar symptoms. I was clueless at first,
then I borrowed a voltmeter that gave me the most incredible voltage
readings, and eventually I had it exchanged for another that worked
the way it should be from the very beginning --close to two hours'
working time with adequate power saving measures---.
