Greetings all,

I'm posting in hope that someone can give me some new ideas as to how
I might resuscitate my poor pb2400c. Here's my tale of woe:

About two years ago I started experiencing an increasing number of
awful freeze/crashes. I was always able to restart, however, after
patiently trying to reset the power manager button (which seems quite
recessed, and is actually quite difficult to keep pressed for any
length of time).

Then the day came when it would start up again no more. I could get
a click, sometimes. I caved and sent the unit in to Apple who, for a
hefty fee, "reparied" it. It returned. It worked. They claimed to
have replaced the motherboard.

Several months later, it started crashing again. And again,
ultimately, I could not restart it. Since this was my home computer,
and I really needed it, I stuck it on a shelf and got a new powerbook.

Now I have some time, and really would like to see whether I can get
my baby back up and running. I have pulled her off the shelf and
diligently applied Sydney Ho's suggestions for resuscitation to her,
but no luck.

Resetting the power manager (by running her off the plug and
depressing the button in the back for 40 seconds or more) *does* turn
the green light on. Pressing it again will turn the green light off.
So I can turn the green light on and off, but nothing more...

Any suggestions? Any idea about what exactly is wrong? Any help
would be a boon,

Thanks,

Nicole
