Hi,

I just acquired an AppleVision 1710AV for use with my 2400c. It didn't
come with a VGA adapter and I didn't have the adapter that shipped with the
2400 so I borrowed one from a neighbor. When I plug the monitor into the
computer, all I get are two black screens. I can power up from the keyboard
connected to the monitor, use the mouse connected to that keyboard, and hear
sounds played through the monitor's speakers but no video. The PowerBook's
display is also black whether open or closed. The monitor does display a
signal with an LC III that I have hooked it up to. Also, when I disconnect
from the 2400c, the desktop icons are rearranged to the left, suggesting a
switch to 640x480. The only thing that I can think of is that the adapter
is not compliant with the 2400, but it looks to be a standard piece of
equipment, so I can't see why. It does have one pin missing, though, if
that has anything to do with it (second from right, middle row.) Let me
know if you can help, because this is not acceptable. Thanks!

Nick
