You might have misread something but I don't think any of us would spend that much for non rechargeable type. They just wouldn't last long, maybe 2-3 hours and then they might start leaking acid, melt the plastics, or even catch on fire. 4/5 A rechargeable batteries with solder tabs would probably cost more than $3 each but I don't think it's really expensive compared to getting a like new Type III off eBay ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
