I had an Oronico for my 2400 but returned it because I thought the drivers were garbage (I don't know if they've improved it, but at the time you had to deselect the card from TCP/IP and AppleTalk if you wanted to eject the card.) I bought a Farallon (now Proxim) Skyline 11Mbps and never looked back. I don't know if it'll work on a 1400 but the driver authors are obviously much more Mac-savvy than those of the Orinoco, so I'm guessing it would be no problem.
