The official Apple service manual, while I haven't seen it in a while, I know that it only goes so far as replacing RAM. They didn't authorize service centers to work on it beyond that.
I wrote a step-by-step takeapart guide which is posted on mac2400, and several people have reported to me that they have used it with success. I think that if you use that and the movie and/or picture guides, you will probably be in good shape...
