On my experiment, it means forever. When I first tried it by using XPF2.2, it stopped there too. When I rebooted it which command-v, it show waiting for the "root device". It meant the external SCSI CDROM did not work at that time. I end up took the HD out and install OSX by using my powerbook G3. It took 15 mins to take the HD out and another 15 min to put it back. It was lot faster than fright with the CD problem.
