I posted this to the PowerBooks list, but I figured I should repost it
here as I'm sure there are folks here who'd be interested. : >)
My first note . . .
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
Works.
Oh, you want details? : >)
My screens have different part numbers (250 = 620-0319 revA, 280 =
620-0499), and different cables of course (each cable has 2 PNs - 250 =
821-0017A & 632-0010A, 280 = 821-0045B & 632-0043A). Everything else
inside the lid is identical as far as I can see, plastics, hinges, PCBs,
other cables, etc. I plugged the 280's cable into the 250 screen
assembly, plopped the whole mess onto a 280's chassis and it fired up
fine.
I haven't put the 280 screen on any other Duos, but I'd like to see if a
230 will drive it. I don't see why not though as a 250 is pretty much
just a 230 with the active screen.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
then the next day I wrote . . .
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
OK, I just tried the 280 screen on a 230/250 LB (using the 250 cable of
course) and it also worked just dandy. Now to try a 2300 screen on a 280
. . . yeah, I know it's not supposed to work, but since I've got 'em all
apart anyway . . .
Heck, any other requests while I've got this pile of parts? Sadly, I have
no 270s so can't toss any of those into the blender. : >)
Thought y'all should know,
Dan K
PS: while apart, anyone want me to try and find the OEM info on the
screens?
