Scott, I know nothing about a developer CD, but installing from an ordinary MacOS X CD worked for me. I can elaborate a bit about our 7600: original 2GB hard drive with MacOS 9.1 in it, 18GB SCSI Seagate HD formatted with MacOS X 10.1, 8GB and 10GB partitions. MacOS 10.1.5 is installed in the 8GB partition and I didn't even bother to configure Classic. You have to make sure SCSI termination is well set up, MacOS X is very picky in that respect. You may have to play with the throttle menu if you have a G3/G4 card (xlr8 g3@480MZ in our case). The system is rock-solid stable with a xlr8 PCI Firewire card and an Asante 100BT Ethernet card. Do you still have the original Apple HD? Some users have reported problems with XPF if it is not present.
