Well Terry, I can't say specifically about a 2300 running 9.1 but I have used a Zip drive to startup my 280c/8.1/Ultradock >Here's what I've tried so far. Using various versions of IomegaWare >Tools (and disk drivers), I have made numerous startup disks with >Systems from OS 8.1 to OS 9.1. Also, as per Iomega, I have >installed system software on a Zip disk just as you would on an >internal hard drive; here I installed OS 8.1. None of these disks >will start the machine. This is were I believe your problem lies. I have always had problems with the Iomega drivers, I don't know why anybody uses them. The 'trick' is to format your Zip disk using Apple Drive Setup (or the Formatting Utility of your choice, I Use Hard Disk Speed Tools from Intech) <http://www.intechusa.com> I do this with ALL of my Zip disk's and they work with any of my Mac's from an SE on up. Once you have formatted the Zip in this way the Mac see's it as just another hard disk, install your system and utilities of choice on the disk and it will boot and run without the host machine having any Iomega drivers on it at all! one last thing... make sure that you have termination switched on for your Zip drive. -- Aloha, Ken ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
